It's always interesting to see how your budget and expenses change over time. They'll often go up and down, depending on your priorities and your current situation.

Why Should You Share a Budget?

A budget is an overview of fixed expenses, and these will vary greatly over the course of one’s life. When you’re young and living at home, you don’t have many fixed expenses. When you start a family and build a home, you’ll have many fixed expenses for a period of time. As you get older and your children leave home, your fixed expenses will decrease again.

By having a budget, you’ll always have a clear picture of your finances, making it easier to identify expenses you might not need.

Follow the developments

When you create a budget in Personal Finance, you automatically get an overview of how your budget is changing. Right on the “My Overview” page, you’ll see how your budget is increasing and decreasing.

To view details about the progress of your budget, click the Budget Progress icon within your budget.

Every time you adjust an expense in your budget, your total expenses will either increase or decrease. The “Budget History” section will show when your budget was adjusted.

If you later want to know exactly which expenses caused a change in total expenses, you can select each item on the graph. This will show you exactly which expenses changed and by how much.
